The Secret of Money.

I learned something today; it is difficult to truly trust anyone in this world. This is something I have a real problem with. I like to be liked, and I hate to be disliked, I hate to disappoint people. So it's hard for me to not trust people. It's also hard for me to say no. My definition of trust is being able and willing to deal with a person without necessarily wanting something from them. Someone in my day-to-day life holds information for ransom. His experience is undisputed, he is egotistical, condescending, he loves to exercise his power and knowledge and remind me over and over "I am above you. I always will be. Your clients are my clients. You are here because I am allowing you to be here."

This means I have to constantly remind myself, "Do not trust this person, you deserve their respect and you do not get it." I was on a shoot one time for a fairly high-end photographer; I supported the shoot by myself with the most equipment that had ever been sent out with one person in the history of our company. Minor issues always come up. Naturally I pulled it off without a single support call. This person at the end of the shoot told me, "Good job Clint." I felt like a million bucks that was all it took.

Since then I have had return business from the same photographer. I've run several other shoots with him and others, everyone has been happy.

That was the only time I've ever heard a true compliment from this person, direct at anyone. Since then I have heard many condescending remarks towards me, and others. The kind of stuff you hear and instantly think, did he just say what I think he said?

It isn't fair that people can get away with that crap, and make three times the amount of money I make at the same time.

But as mom always told me, "Life isn't fair." If you want to get anywhere, you can't play fair. Once you make it big, you can become fair. However in order to "get there" you need to have connections, be willing to say you are better than someone that is better than you. Take risks, learn to say, "No" and "Fuck You!" when you know if you don't take the job, you might not be able to pay your rent that month.

But lets take a look at the value of money, why do you even need it? Because this is a capitalist society and the majority of people are fundamentally greedy.

I am reading a book that was recommended to me by a couple friends of mine, it is called Rule by Secrecy, written by Jim Marrs. On first glance it looks like any ol' conspiracy theory book, however it truly is backed my massive amounts of thorough research.

Consider this:
Consider that when a person deposits $50 in a bank, this is effect a loan to the bank since that $50 must be repaid on demand. Therefore, on the books the $50 is considered a liability. However the bank then loans the $50 to someone else who must repay it with interest. Now the $50 is considered an asset. The same $50 is both an asset and a liability, thus counteracting each other, proving that money is essentially worthless.
But then there's the matter of interest. When the $50 is put into a savings account, there is a small amount of interest accrued, often on the condition that the money can't be withdrawn quickly. When the $50 is placed in a checking account, the depositor draws zero interest. But when the bank loans $50, they charge a healthy interest based on the current rates and reap the profit. It is clear then, that in banking debt equals profit.
This is the primary secret of money.

Is that fair? On first glance... Hell No! I say we all become a society of civilized Neanderthals, abolish money and barter for everything.

Starship Enterprise anyone?
