Well my old roommate moved out last Thursday. So my apartment is practically empty, because the only furniture I own is a desk, a bed, and a dresser stand thing with no drawers just cubbies that is doubling as a home entertainment center. I temporarily borrowed a couch from my old roommate's previous roommate, but the thing is so gross I found myself watching a DVD the other night, standing in the middle of the living room. Subconsciously I guess I'm afraid of the oblong stains, dust bunnies, and cryptic crumbs from many generations past.
So I did what any good New Yorker would do. I pushed it out into the hallway of my building, brushed it off with a broom, pushed it back inside my apartment, swept up what I could in front of the elevators, and put a huge sheet over it. It will have to do until my new roommate arrives September 9th.
Since then I have been cleaning like a fool. My apartment is the most presentable it has ever been. It's a little empty, which isn't all that bad. I would actually feel comfortable doing jumping jacks and eating on the floor. For a NY apartment, it's downright spacious!
Anyway, stay tuned for news and information on the life of everyone's favorite Clint.
Things I have planned for the near future include remote administration of all my home devices/appliances, via a web portal. (Which basically means, I will be able to turn on the lights in my apartment from anywhere that I have internet access, including from my cell phone!)
