What exactly does an ‘Imaging Specialist’ do? Pretty much anything that has to do with images, including but not limited to: archiving, automation, branding, calibration, cameras, capture, color, computers, layout, lighting, logo design, manipulation, networking photography, printing, projectors, retouching, scanning, and quite a few secure web services.
This is my elevator pitch: I work with Photographers and Advertising agencies who need a person with the technical knowledge and communication skills to follow their images from the capture point, onto layout, then into retouching, ultimately ending in a final magazine page, print or billboard. I also archive imaging data for my clients. I have over 5 years of experience in professional digital photography and post-production.
Color Management is critical at the level I normally work. It is not brain surgery but it is not easy by any means. I offer consulting and calibration services to anyone who is interested, where I explain color in as much detail as required. The in’s-and-out’s of accurate color, if you will. Or if you just want your printer to match your screen, I can help with that too.
